The new land of Tuscan wine

Heritage, elegance, pride

The Maremma

The Maremma is a land still rugged and almost reserved, yet it has absorbed the cultures that have passed through it, blending into a style that is both elegant and wild. Pristine beaches, nature reserves like the Diaccia Botrona, and the presence of rare wildlife make the Maremma an extraordinary place, where people have learned to coexist with nature, respecting and preserving it.

DOC Maremma Toscana

Established in 2011, the Maremma Toscana DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) boasts diverse soils and a Mediterranean climate that’s perfect for viticulture. The proximity to the sea gives the wines a distinct saltiness, while the Mediterranean scrub cools the summers, adding to the aromatic complexity. This designation highlights both native varieties like Sangiovese and international ones like Cabernet Sauvignon, producing expressive wines that blend the untamed character of the Maremma with the elegance of well-known varieties.

A wine, its terroir

It’s always the terroir that shapes the wine, and at Val del Melo, the conditions are truly exceptional. The surrounding hills protect the vines, the woods cool them during the summer, and the nearby sea encourages temperature variations. The soil still carries the memory of when, millennia ago, the sea covered this land. Today, this blend of minerals, sand, and clay gives our wines an unmistakable character.
